JICA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION OF PAKISTAN - FREE MEDICAL CAMP BAHTAR
JICA Alumni Association of Pakistan organized a Free Medical Camp at Village Bahtar, District Attock on 9th March 2008. A total of about 1140 patients were examine with services of diagnosis by specialist doctors, free medication and health awareness literature and eye glasses/optical. A team of 17 senior doctors headed by Prof. K. A. Abbas, President JICA Alumni Association of Pakistan and renowned Paediatrician, along with 13 paramedical staff and 5-member Organizing Team of JICA Alumni Association of Pakistan participated in the one-day Free Medical Camp. Mrs. Mohsin, an eminent resident of the area assisted the Association in making the necessary arrangements.
During the Medical Camp it was observed that malnutrition was the major cause of ailments in the village where no proper medical facilities are available. Other prominent diseases observed during the Medical Camp were hypertension, orthopedic problem, allergy, respiratory tract infections, and eye infections. Amongst the female patient, reproductive tract infections were also observed.
